Conor McGregor To Appear On 'Game Of Thrones': UFC Champ Will Be Part Of Euron Greyjoy Crew

UFC star Conor McGregor gained popularity this 2016. But, 2017 will prove to be his shiniest year in Hollywood as he is set to appear on "Game Of Thrones" as part of Euron Greyjoy Crew.

Rumors have been circulating for a few weeks now that McGregor is set to play a cameo role on HBO's popular TV series. UFC boss Dana White mentioned in an interview with FOX Sports Live that the UFC star will have a role in Game of thrones.

"I did hear that and I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. I'm glad he did it. It will be great," said White. "The show's huge, it's awesome and I'm excited for him," he added further.

But Mcgregor's role in GOT is not quite what you would expect from a UFC champ. The brash Irish fighter will be a crew on Silence, Euron Greyjoy's ship. The crew ship is called "Silence" since Euron cuts the tongue of all crews who boards the ship. This means that the loud-mouthed UFC fighter will not even say a single word during his appearance on the show.

Conor will not a stranger in the set since he is also known to be The Mountain's (played by Icelandic strongman Hafpor Julius Bjornsson) friend in real life. An on-screen encounter between the two would surely be an epic scene for anyone who follows them.

The current lightweight champion is not a neophyte in the acting world either. He already acted in the latest Call of Duty game as a video game character. As one of MMA biggest star, McGregor is frequently offered projects outside fighting.

But his dedication to his MMA fighting craft caused him to turn down numerous offers. It was reported that Conor Mcgregor turned down "XxX: Return of Xander Cage" movie role. He was replaced by fellow UFC champion Michael Bisping. But with his upcoming role in GOT, Hollywood can surely expect more from him in the incoming years.
