Azelia Banks Battery Case Against Russell Crowe Dropped By District Attorney

Azelia Banks filed a police report against Russell Crow in October after he allegedly attacked her and kicked her out of his Beverly Hills Hotel room during an intimate dinner party, where Banks was brought by another rapper, RZA, as a guest. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office dropped Banks' claim due to "lack of sufficient evidence."

Twenty-five year old Banks claimed that on October 15, Crowe, 52, assaulted her and that she was "spat on, choked, thrown out of a room, and called a 'n--' before kicking her out. The police report for battery was filed the following day at 3am. Banks said she decided to file the report because Crowe refused to apologize.

However, a source told DailyMail that Banks was the real aggressor that night. They say that Crowe did grab Banks in a "bear hug" but only because she became violent. Attendees of the actor's party say that it all started when she slammed Crowe's gathering by saying the party is full of 'boring white men.'

A female guest defended Crowe, but the rapper hit back instead by saying: "You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s--." When Banks reached for her glass and cocked it, that's when Crowe intervened.

After two months of talking to witnesses, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's declined to move forward with the case saying that the Gladiator star's acts were justified, and that he is within his bounds when he grabbed the rapper.

The actors actions, the D.A said, were justifiable because he only prevented his guests from getting hurt by Bank's wine glass. Banks and Crowe are yet to comment on the development of this report.
