Celebrities are sometimes kicked out of hotels for bad behavior, but it is rare for a wealthy famous person is kicked out because they can pay the bill. Lindsay Lohan was kicked out and banned from the famous Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood after not paying a $46,350.04 bill.
Lohan received a letter from the general manager of the hotel asking her to pack her things and leave on Aug. 1 after failing to pay the bill she racked up during her stay starting May 30. The letter read "Please have all of your belongings removed from Suite 33 by 12:00PM, Wednesday, August, 1, 2012."
Not only was she banned from the room that she'd been staying in during the summer months, she was banned from the property altogether including hotel restaurants. Lohan had been staying at the hotel while fimling the television film "Liz & Dick."
While living at the hotel through June and July, Lohan managed to spend over $40,000 on room service, minibar use, cigarettes and more. During the 47-day stay, Lohan spent $3,145.07 on the minibar, $686 on cigarettes, $1,992.07 at the hotel restaurants, $100 on a Chateau candle and more.
The letter read that the hotel made several attempts to resolve the issue, but Lohan failed to pay up.
Even though Lohan didn't pay the pricey bill, the hotel did cut her some slack for hotel computer use.
"In regard to your bill, please note that I have adjusted off the daily $75 charge for computer rental for use of the hotel's laptop as a gesture of good faith, with the understanding that you will return the computer upon your departure tomorrow," the letter read.
Hotel management probably wasn't too happy with the attention that the troubled star received either. In June, paramedics showed up to her hotel suite after a false report that Lohan was unconscious.
This incident is just one of many that is adding to a bad reputation in recent years. The actress seems to have spent more time in court than on the screen. She has been involved in cases of robbery, DWI charges, violating probation and more.
