"This Is What You Came For" writer Taylor Swift ranked the number one spot on the Forbes' list of The World's Highest-Paid Musicians of 2016. Swift earned a whopping $170 million between June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016, and she has not even released an album yet!
According to Billboard, most of Taylor's earnings came from her 1989 World Tour, and "thanks to her mega-successful 1989 tour and various product endorsements." The 1989 World Tour was Swifty's fourth global concert, which sold more than $250 million worth of tickets.
Taylor Swift single-handedly surpassed all five members of One Direction, which includes Zayn Malik who left the group in 2015, her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. According to Yahoo!, the group collectively earned a whopping $110 million that puts them in second place on the list. The "All I Ask" singer Adele ranked third on the Forbes' list not even reaching half of Swift's earnings which is a total of $80 million. However, the Forbes' pointed out that the British superstar is "one of the few acts still making more on recorded music than anything else."
Besides Harry Styles, another Taylor Swift ex-lover topped a Forbes' list. In the Forbes' latest list of the world's highest paid DJs Calvin Harris was named number one on the list. In a report by The Guardian, this is Harris' third consecutive year topping the charts.
