One of the world's most photogenic natural wonders is about to be transformed into something that's even more breath-taking. With the help of modern technology, the majestic Niagara Falls are about to get a colorful upgrade with the use of modern multicolored LED Lights.
On the evening of December 1, 2016, one of America's most awe-inspiring sights will be brought to life in a way that only technology can. A ground-breaking new light show will be brought to the great North American landmark.
According to a report by Forbes, the picturesque grand waterfall will be blessed with the addition of a $3.1 million light upgrade that utilizes energy-efficient LED lights arranged in an artistic illumination display. The project known as The Niagara Falls Light Show has been underway for the past 20 years and has finally been made ready for public reveal.
The lighting project is a product of the bi-national park's board committee and their decision to upgrade from the previously used Xenon lights. According to the committee, the use of the new LED technology in the Niagara Falls Light Show 2016 will not only result in more consistent and vibrant lighting, but will also reduce the operational costs by up to 60%.
As stated by the Niagara Parks official website, December 1 will be the official unveiling of the attraction known as the New Niagara Falls Illumination. The website also provides a comprehensive schedule guide indicating the specific dates and times on which the lighting will occur.
Furthermore, the website has stated that the unveiling celebration will be accompanied by concerts before and after the light show. An opening concert by Stacey Kay will be held before the unveiling and a concert by Repartee will follow the Niagara Falls light show.
The Niagara Falls Parks have also announced that the attraction will light up specific colors in commemoration of special holidays and movements. The attraction is set to feature specific colors and combinations during events such as Women's Rights, World Diabetes Day, and other special days.
