The legendary British rock band Coldplay has sold out yet another huge concert event in a span of just a few hours. Tickets for the band's New Year's Eve show in Abu Dhabi were sold on Wednesday evening via Ticket Master starting at 350 DHS.
As stated by Whatson, the "A Head Full of Dreams Tour" New Year's Eve concert is to be held on the evening of December 31 in du Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. However, Coldplay's Dubai fans were left dismayed after the band's UAE concert was declared to be sold out just hours after the sale began.
Tickets went live on Ticket Master at midnight of Wednesday, November 30. However, just a few hours following the website's live ticket sale, the overwhelming public response resulted in an almost automatic sell out of all tickets and passes for the Coldplay Dubai concert.
According to The National, all ticket categories were declared sold out, including all VIP platform tickets and all 30, 000 DHS suites tickets. Flash Entertainment, the event's coordinating sponsor, has declared this ticket sale to be the fastest in its company's history.
Following last year's release of Coldplay's latest album, A Head Full of Dreams, the renowned band has proceeded to sell out every show in its album-promotion world tour. To date, the band's tour has continuously sold out every concert venue since its first concert date in March 2016.
Several issues regarding disgruntled fans, and online traffic problems have even risen due to the heavy demand for tour concert tickets. Websites such as Ticket Net and Ticket Master have experienced server crashes due to the sheer number of people logging on during live sales.
Event organizers believe that the increased demand in concert tickets is a result of the additional discount that was offered to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2016 ticket holders. The audience for the 2016 racing event were offered concert ticket discounts of up to 20 per cent.
