Tropical Storm Isaac is making its way through the Caribbean as forecast models are getting more of an idea of where it is heading. Hurricane Isaac 2012 is said to make a direct hit or a big disturbance in Florida before hitting other states a long the U.S. Gulf region.
The National Hurricane Center said that "Isaac could become a hurricane Thursday night or Friday,"and that "some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours."
The updated forecast of its path shows that the storm will likey hit Florida on Monday and over Tuesday before heading its way west and troubling the state of Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. If it doesn't make a direct hit on Florida it will most likely show torrential downpour and menacing other states near the Gulf Coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It is expected to be a category 1 or category 2 and the first of 2012 to strike the U.S.
"Current projections bring Isaac, now a strengthening tropical storm, to Florida's neighborhood during the first part of next week," writes Alex Sosnowski, an expert Senior Meteorologist According to the Clarion Ledger.
The Dominican Republic and Haiti were hit by Isaac on Thursday and it is expected to become stronger over the Caribbean. No major damage was reported in Puerto Rico.
Isaac will most probably hit Hispaniola which is an island that is shard by Haiti and the Dominican republic as a hurricane on Thursday or early Friday. It is then predicted to move to Cuba and then on the the U.S to Florida as a hurricane.
