Museums are usually included in tourists lists of places to go in foreign countries. Even locals love to visit the museum and see lots of historical and artistic exhibitions. Many countries have their own museum and showcase their own national objects.

Despite the many museums present all around the world, there are museums that are usually visited by many people. There are also museums that have the best exhibitions. According to the Travel Channel and Touropia, here are five museums considered to be great and popular.

1. The British Museum- The British Museum contains lots of historical collections of not just the United Kingdom but also of different countries of the world. It shows the culture of these countries from the beginning up to the present. What's great is that visitors learn a lot from this museum for free.

2. Vatican City Museum- the Vatican is found in Italy and is known for its amazing and creative artistic designs, museums in the Vatican City are truly one of the best. With artistic objects way back in the Renaissance period and paintings by the famous Michelangelo, visitors appreciate the wonderful art these museums have to offer. Its objects may have been made many years ago, but nothing compares to its beauty.

3. The State Hermitage Museum- this museum is found in Russia and is known to be the best because of its massive collections of about three million objects. These objects are placed of five palaces of the museum that was created over five centuries ago. It contains priceless and magnificent works by famous artists such as Da Vinci and Rembrandt.

4. The Metropolitan Museum of Art- located in New York, this museum is also popular for its massive collection of about two million objects. More known as "The Met", this museum contains massive historical and artistic works from different continents and parts of the world. It has two floors and lots of tons of room to hold the many varieties of works it contains.

5. Egyptian Museum- nestled in Cairo is a museum containing over 120,000 Egyptian antiques and archaeological finds displayed on its two-floor building. On the first floor of the museum, large collections of papyrus and coins used by the Egyptians before. The second floor contains artifacts from Ancient Egypt and Valley of the Kings. The famous Tutankhamun's golden mask is also found here.
