There are a lot of marathons for 2017 that cater to different types of runners--different distances, routes, lengths, and courses. If you're looking for a running event in Europe for 2017, read on. Below is a list of events happening on this side of the world next year.

1. Athens Authentic Marathon

The recently-concluded European marathon in Greece for November 2016, the Authentic, offered Marathon Race and Power Walking. Participants could choose a 10km Road Race Wind or 5km Road Race Wind for the morning and the afternoon. The marathon also conducted a Kids Race that were open for children born in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

The Athens Marathon offers runners the great experience by starting at the city of Marathon and finishing the race at the Panathinaikon Stadium.

2. Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris

The third biggest European marathon next to London and Berlin according to ISPO, Marathon de Paris will have its next race on the 9th of April 2017. The race is open for all nationalities who will be running a total of 42 km distance.

The marathon will start at the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and runners will pass through the Place de la Concorde and Bois de Boulogne then finish the race at Arc de Triomphe.

3. Virgin London Marathon

Virgin London Marathon broke their own achievement in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest annual single-day charity fundraising event for eight consecutive years and gathered $87 million in 2014, according to Runnersworld.

It catered to 39,200 in 2016 and will aim for another big charity event on the 23rd of April 2017.

4. BMW-Berlin Marathon

The 44th BMW-Berlin Marathon is one of the fastest marathons in the world because of several world records being broken here by top runners, according to BBC. The factors that led to this world records is mainly due to Berlin's flat course that offers less turns and a great weather for racing.

This European marathon will start at Bradenburg Gate and will take place on the 24th of September 2017, where they are set to break another world record advertising the event as #beatberlin42.

5. Jungfrau Marathon

The Jungfrau Marathon are for racers who can run for uphill tracks. Being conducted at the Swiss Alps, this European mountain marathon offers runners with a more scenic view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau and their lush greeneries plus an outstanding sight of Lake Brienz.

Jungfrau Marathon will take place on the 9th of September 2017.
