Audi Japan Branch Sells One Final Fantasy XV-Themed Car In Time With Game Release

"Final Fantasy XV", the most anticipated new entry in Square Enix's popular 30 year old game franchise, "Final Fantasy", will finally be released this coming November 29 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Earlier this year, in July, along with Sony Pictures, Square Enix released an all-CG film, "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" movie based on the upcoming "Final Fantasy" game.

The movie featured a special version of one of German automobile manufacturer Audi's latest car models, the 2017 Audi R8, called the "Star of Lucis". The car company's Japanese branch produced a one-off real life version of the car and they are willing to make a raffle to buyers for the price of 50,000,015 yen or around 468, 713 dollars, according to engadget, which will open on November 21.

The R8 Star of Lucis was made for the crown prince of the fictional Kingdom of Lucis. The car is themed with what the kingdom considers as the noblest color, the color black. Caradvice reviewed the car's design, stating that the detailing done on the R8's side blades, air intakes, wing mirrors and rear wing featured an Arabesque pattern, based on "the Tenebrae oracle clan [that] confers peace, blessings and well being."

The Star of Lucis' wheels are fashioned in rose petal patterns interlaced with patterns based on the kingdom's "finely sculpted swords". Meanwhile, the interior looks a little less unique compared to the exterior, making it comfortable, styled with orange stitching, along with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a Virtual Cockpit instrument panel and built-in internet connectivity. This gorgeous Final Fantasy-themed car also is powered by the 449kW/560Nm version of the 5.2-litre V10 used in the Audi R8 Plus model. All set with an all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed transmission, the Audi R8 Star of Lucis is good for a 0-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h.
