The sharks are back! Discovery Channel's Shark Week kicks off of August 12 and they're giving fans a chance to win a trip as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the popular television event.
The last place a person would want to go after watching one of the Shark Week specials is on the water or to a beach, but the Discovery Channel, along with MSN and Universal Studios, are giving fans a chance to win a six day Galapagos Islands Cruise for two in their Shark Week Dive Into Prizes Sweepstakes. This could be an amazing opportunity for those who want to get closer to the ocean predators.
One lucky grand prize winner will receive a six day cruise to the Galapagos Islands which includes airfare, provided by Discovery Adventures. The package, valued at $8,520 gives winners a chance to connect with the wildlife of the Galapagos. Winners will get to snorkel with sealions, take island hikes with a naturalist guide, and sip on cold drinks in the ship's Jacuzzi.
Others will have a chance to win runner-up prizes. Five first place winners will receive a Blu-Ray combo pack which includes a Blu-Ray player. Five second prize winners will receive an XBOX 360 console with 1600 Microsoft points. Five third place winners will receive a shark week prize pack which includes a t-shirt, dvd, a mug and more.
Legal residents of the 50 United States who are 21 or older can enter the contest once every day until it ends on August 20.
The sweepstakes began on July 31 and the last day to enter is August 20. The winner will be selected at random on August 22.
