Imagine a fishbowl filled with many orange clown fish like Nemo then comes a blue tang fish just like Dory. What do you think will stand out? Even if you're not 20-20 vision, I bet you knew the answer, blue won. As travellers, you had the chance to meet several people with different skin, eye, hair color; accents are also not the same and so with the culture. We live in the same planet, but it seems that we are in different worlds because of these dissimilarities. Ironically, we view beauty differently as well. The beautiful in the north is invisible in the south.
In an article of Quora, an interesting question was flagged. "Have you ever been considered more attractive in a country other than your own?" Find out their answers. LLolyta, from Indonesia said, "Here, in my home country, I can say that i am not considered as beautiful, pretty, or whatever you name it. But, when i went to Europe last summer i got a lot of attention, especially from western guys... Even if i am kinda small for them but they said having a tan skintone is quite sexy (which is one of the reason i should travel more hahaha)."
Katherine Mesh, from Siberia, Russia commented, "So coming to China was indeed very relieving to realize that even after workout or with no make-up at all you are still beautiful and exotic to Chinese people as well as some expats from other countries beside former USSR. Living in China makes you more relaxed and indeed helps you feel better about yourself every day."
"In China, I was seen as particularly attractive, possibly because I am quite tall. Lot's of people wanted to take their photos with me at some of the sights such as the Forbidden City and The Great Wall! I just went with the flow and smiled for the camera," Amy Trumpeter, from England said.
Fatima Ali, Pakistani narrated, "I'm obviously ethnic looking with dark features, I never fit in with my own country's anglophilic measure of attractiveness. Once I moved to the USA and started traveling around Europe, the opposite happened - where I was admired for my exotic looks and praised often. Needless to say, the attention wasn't something I was used to and still isn't- but I'm not complaining!"
