"Pokémon Go" Players Can Now Expect Fewer Pidgeys, Rattatas And Zubats

If you are a "Pokémon Go" player, you might experience being a little fed up of seeing the same creatures in the said game, but now's a good time to check back in. "Pokémon Go" players will possibly encounter fewer of the game's most common creatures, namely Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat, on their outdoor journeys, as stated by the tweets from developer Niantic. Instead, trainers may find other Pokémon hanging out on Pidgey, Rattata and Zubat's turf. This enables other Pokémon to get more of the spotlight.

"It appears that change has already been rolling out for Pokémon Go players. Paired with another "discovery" from Professor Willow, it will mean fewer birds and snakes being sent back for processing," the official "Pokémon Go" Twitter account said. According to Eurogamer, players are already reporting new spawn points for uncommon and rarer creatures since the announcement, so now's a good time to investigate what's near you to help expand your Pokédex.

Pidgeys and Rattatas have been stripped from Eggs altogether, hopefully offering players a higher chance of finding Starter Pokémon in lower tier 2km Eggs. Niantic also confirmed the Eevee hatching change earlier last week, making it convenient on players who had put in extra steps only to birth a normal type Pokémon. To make it clear, Eevee will now only hatch from 5km eggs. The reasonably common, but still useful to evolve, Eevee would be a frustrating find in 10km eggs previously, where players would hope the more elusive Snorlax or Lapras would be waiting.

These are absolutely a good news for trainers who are still on the hunt for less common Pokémon, although response to Niantic's changes strongly imply that what players really want is a proper tracking system, Polygon said. Also, Niantic has been busy ramping up updates to the game in recent weeks. These changes followed days after the game's first seasonal event concluded, which populated the world with more "spooky" Pokémon and gave out increased Candy drops for Halloween, while medals were recently revamped to give bonuses for specific elements. Niantic shared, as well, that "Pokémon Go" is getting daily bonuses and other rewards for the first catch and PokeStop visit of the day, and a little extra for maintaining a streak for an entire week. These are part of an update to the famous game, providing players new reasons to check in with the Android and iOS app.
