Air France to Introduce Self Service Kiosks

Air France revealed major changes to its ground and in-flight services to make sure that their customers have a more than satisfactory experience.

The carrier announced that passengers who used any of the 12 airports in France will have the option to use brand new self-service kiosks.

These kiosks are aimed at enabling them to print their own baggage labels and avoid long queues.

The carrier has also started a collaboration with sister airline KLM in offering a paid-for a la carte meal service for Voyageur and Premium Voyageur passengers on long-haul flights.

Travelers will have a wide range of options to choose from. One can select from a range of dishes including a traditional French meal, fresh seafood, healthy organic, Italian or a special dish designed by the famous Lenotre culinary institute.

Other initiatives taken up by carrier include:

  • Paid-for baggage collection and delivery for customers using Paris CDG
  • "VIP" services including chauffeur-driven transfers
  • Facility to use a hotel room for a few hours to relax
  • An improved AVOD IFE system, with new navigation features, and "a new more intuitive presentation of the cinema and TV sections"
