On BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, Bruno Mars did a breathtaking set during his visit on the studio on Wednesday(Nov. 2), together with his band, The Hooligans. According to the station, Twitter went into a meltdown with his performance.
BBC news reports that Mars started off his set with 24K Magic, then followed by "Treasure" and "Locked Out Of Heaven", and finished off with his rendition of Adele's "All I Ask, " the hit he co-written with the British singer. Below is the video of his cover version.
As mentioned on a Billboard article, he kept the same melody as Adele's "beltable tune" And effortlessly had swag on the major notes "added with a Bruno flair with jazzy electronic sounds". According to the magazine, his biggest moment came at the end of the cover when he began a run of high notes that built up to a powerful finish on the word 'again', as reported by Billboard.
"We are aiming for that big diva, ballad thing- that's what I envisioned," said Mars on a recent interview with Rolling Stone "But 'lovers'? I don't know if anybody really says 'lovers.' 'Yeah, we're lovers.' 'This is my lover.' I was like, 'Should we rethink that?? But [Adele] was so gangster about it. She was like, 'Nope. That's what it has to be.' And she was right."
Mars' long awaited LP, 24K Magic was released in October. His album will be out on November 18 following 2012's Unorthodox Jukebox and Uptown Funk.
