Nintendo 3ds Launches Free Update For Hit Game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Plus Amiibo Support Added

Nintendo has devoted its latest Nintendo Direct broadcast to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It announced the huge update to the fan-favorite Nintendo 3DS title. The three-year old game is getting free update to 3DS Game plus added amiibo support functionality together with other new characters and features, according to Business Wire.

As explained by Wired, the game has been originally released for Nintendo 3DS in 2013. This will cast the game user as Mayor of the eponymous town that is responsible in solving their residents' daily problems while building a new gentle life for themselves. Meanwhile, according to Business Wire, Animal Crossing amiibo cards were launched in 2015. It was sold in blind packs like regular trading cards. These amiibo cards comprises the same NFC chips to make them compatible with offshoot title "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer".

According to Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, "This new update will appeal to people who never picked up the original game, and all its new features will excite fans of the Animal Crossing franchise." The new update means the same cards will now operate with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with the new characters on the cards visiting the Mayor's town. A new wave of Animal Crossing amiibo cards soon be available. It will have additional 50 new characters to New Leaf, and the first four waves of cards are fully supported.

New villagers introduced via amiibo card can visit a campsite in their own custom camper vans, where you can buy unique items from them. Users will need the latest Mutual Exchange of Wealth (MEOW) coupons to purchase goods from the RVs. Users can now be able to invite some of the campers to permanently move in. Thus, it will increase the population of your village with a host of peculiar new residents, based on Wired. Not only that, with the new amiibo Camera mode, you can take the latest in-game selfies. Business Wire further explained that upon gathering your desired villagers, you can snap a photo and save it to view as you like.
