A woman was rescued by TSA agents at Miami International Airport after they noticed something was wrong. The woman who was beaten and kidnapped, was brought to the airport by her assailants and was about the be forced to fly with them to New York when agents noticed something off.
The airport surveillance video was obtained by NBC 6 South Florida and the victim is seen at the airport on July 5. A TSA officer named Ray, who didn't want to use his full name for security reasons, said to NBCMiami.com, "When she came closer I realized she was black and blue on both sides of her face, her forehead. I noticed her shoulder looked like she had a big rug burn." He continued, "Later on I found out from her that they had dragged her across the floor."
Another TSA officer, Danielle said that the woman looked afraid. "The way that she was acting, we actually thought it was a case of an abduction because she looked very young," Danielle said.
The kidnapped woman had been beaten inside a room at the Best Western hotel in North Miami and detectives said that she came from South Florida with a group on vacation. It turned bad when one woman accused the victim of having an affair with her boyfriend, when she was beaten and kidnapped.
The woman was threatened and forced to withdraw funds from the bank and was about to be taken to New Jersey. TSA agent Danielle said that her partner approached the woman and asked her to come with them, when the kidnapped woman asked them to help her and take her away from the men who she was with.
Officers came in and detained the kidnappers which were two woman and two men. The two women, Melissa Pineiro and Tori Beato have been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery and robbery. The two men were released.
