Taking photos while your feet are soaked on the white sand of Boracay, partying all night and dreaming of that island hopping adventure; your dream vacation is just hours away. But suddenly, there's traffic all over the place. Before you go mad, get yourself busy by re-checking your bags. Some items might not be permitted if you go on board.
1. Playlist with any obscene songs
"I see you driving 'round town with the girl I love and I'm like, ___ you!" Forget that CeeLo Green song if you're travelling in India or you'll be in jail.
According to Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) whoever, to the annoyance of others, (a) does any obscene act in any public place, or (b) sings, recites or utters any obscene songs, ballad or word, in or near any public place, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.
2. "BOMB" Big Word
In the Philippines, the public is forbidden to make bomb pranks. Circulating any bomb joke in the country is punishable by law; this is penalized under Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 1727.
"Any person who, by word of mouth or through the use of the mail, telephone, telegraph, printed materials and other instrument or means of communication, willfully makes any threat or maliciously conveys, communicates, transmits, imparts, passes on, or otherwise disseminates false information, knowing the same to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made to kill, injure, or intimidate any individual or unlawfully to damage or destroy any building, vehicle, or other real or personal property, by means of explosives, incendiary devices, and other destructive forces of similar nature or characteristics, shall upon conviction be punished with imprisonment of not more than five years, or a fine of not more than P40,000 or both at the discretion of the court having jurisdiction over the offense herein defined and penalized" (Section 1, RA 1727)
3. Religious Tattoos or items
A religious image used as a decoration for a product or a tattoo is unacceptable in Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
In an Express report , a tourist was arrested for having an image of Buddha permanently tattooed on his leg. The man was kicked out of Myanmar. The same scenario happened in Thailand that's why airports have gone as far as placing up posters to caution visitors not to get Buddha tattoos or to buy statues.
4. 100 ml. perfumes
Check your knick-knacks because it could possibly be removed by airport security. Liquid-filled items over the 100ml are not allowed in your hand luggage.
5. From Prada to Nada
Make sure that your bag spells it right. There are instances that carrying fake designer bags like Chanel, Hermes and Louis Vuitton puts someone in the prying eye of airport securities.
