Rumors, as expected, for the iPhone 5's release date always surface before the Apple actually releases a report. Though Apple still hasn't made any official comments, industry insiders are reporting that Apple is planning to release a smaller version of the iPad tablet after the highly anticipated iPhone 5 this September.
KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told BGR News, that Apple's new iPhone will launch in September, then the smaller version of the iPad will be released closely after. Ming-Chi wrote in a note to clients, ""IPhone 5 to debut in September. But due to in-cell touch panel and casing yield rate limits, ability to offset older models' shipments decrease will be moderate."
To the French website, App4Phone a Chinese source also leaked the release date to be September 21, 2012.
According to earlier reports the iPad mini will be as thin as an iPod touch, range within $249-$299 and have a 7.85 inch display. The new iPhone is expected to have a redesigned case and a 4 inch display as well as other changes.
Reuters reported that the iPhone5's dock used to connect speakers and power chargers are getting smaller. Instead of the standard 30 pins on the bottom of the phone, they are changing it to 10 pins. Therefore purchasing the new phone means you'll have to also purchase an adaptor.
London based analyst, Pete Cunningham said to Reuters, "It represents an opportunity for accessory vendors. The iPhone connector has been a standard for a long time now and I would expect the same to be true for a new connector, should Apple change it as expected."
