In an upcoming storyline on This Is Us, Mandy Moore will be incorporating a little bit of her music career.
Cosmopolitan narrates what the NBC's new ensemble drama is all about. The story follows three story strands: Milo Ventimiglia as Jack, whose wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore) is pregnant with triplets and spends most of the episode in labor; twin siblings Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (Justin Hartley), who are tired of being unhappy with their weight and career, respectively; and newly minted Emmy-winner Sterling K. Brown as Randall, a high-flying businessman who's in crisis after finally locating his long-lost birth father.
In an interview with E! News at the 7th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, the actress revealed that episode five is going to get musical.
"The next episode is at a pool. Milo [Ventimiglia] and I got to shoot at a pool with our eight-year-old children. But the fifth episode, I get to sing in," Moore teased. "So I'm excited about that. And it sort of reveals that my backstory, I was in a bar band. So there will be the music connection moving forward."
It is also inevitable that there will be more than a few tears mixed in with Moore's musical moment. "I feel like the fifth episode is going to destroy people," Moore admitted. "Milo and I watched it the other day and I was-I was beside myself. I got to my car 20 minutes later and just started bawling by myself after I had cried right after. It's a lot to take in."
According to E! News, aside from Moore and Ventimiglia's young parents Rebecca and Jack taking their kids Kevin, Kate, and adopted son Randall to the community pool in the flashback storyline, we'll see adult Kevin's rocky entry into New York City's theater scene.
"You'll see Kevin stumble a lot in the next episode," star Justin Hartley said. "It'll be uncomfortable for you to watch a little bit."
Moore and Hartley also revealed that they cry as much as the viewers.
This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.
