Some lucky ladies got to take the flight of a lifetime. They got to join One Direction on a private jet from London to Manchester as winners of a charity contest.
The UK Boy band One Direction helped to raise £50,000 ($78,000) for Flying Start - British Airway's charity partnership with Comic Relief, by hosting a contest that would give fans a chance to fly with them on their specially named plane BA1D, according to the Daily Mail.
The contest was a text message contest that charged people to enter, which is how funds were raised for the charity.
The contest winners joined Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik on a fan-filled flight. Each of the band members wore white Flying Start t-shirts and they walked along the aisles signing autographs and posing for photos with the fans.
At one point, Louis Tomlinson took over the plane's announcement system at some point during the hour long flight.
Mary Barry, British Airways community investment manager, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to team up with One Direction for this fantastic competition and we're so grateful to them for giving us this chance to raise lots of money for Flying Start."
While the flight was a good time for all on board, Harry Styles wasn't too happy with what he found waiting for them at their dressing room when they arrived at the Echo Arena in Liverpool. He tweeted a photo of markers and paper and wrote "I know we're young but I feel like colouring books in the dressing room is a little far."
Later in the night the group performed at Radio City Live at the Liverpool Arena. They were among acts such as Professor Green , Stooshe , Alyssa Reid, Labrinth, Alexandra Burke, Rizzle Kicks, Tulisa, Taio Cruz and Will Young.
Niall Horan was very excited about the performance as he took to Twitter Saturday morning.
He wrote: "Everyone ready for tonight, its a great line up. cant wait! First gig in the uk in ages. "Liverpool we're comin back. its been a while, but we will be at the echo tonight! Who is coming? Xxx."
He later thanked fans for coming after the show. "Liverpool you guys were amazing, hope you enjoyed the whole show! Everyone was smashin it up in there!" Niall excitedly tweeted. "Love been back in the UK, first show since we've back."
The band is currently working on their second album. They were recently in the studio with McFly and there are rumors that Justin Bieber may join them on one of their tracks.
