After ten years, Amy Adams is set to film "Disenchanted," the sequel of Disney's 2007 musical fantasy movie "Enchanted."
Adam Shankman is in discussions to direct the movie, which is anticipated to start filming on summer 2017, reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Amy Adams played the character of Giselle in "Enchanted." She is due to marry her Prince Charming (James Marsden), when she is grabbed from her animated world and brought into the live-action world of New York City. She then encountered a lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who is due to marry someone wrong for him (Idina Menzel). Also, the film featured Maleficent - style evil queen, portrayed by Susan Sarandon.
"Enchanted" earned more than $340 million worldwide, according to The Guardian. The film has been in development since 2010.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote that according to sources, the film is said to center on "Giselle finding herself questioning her happily-ever-after life and accidentally triggering events that make everyone's lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia."
David Stem and David Weiss formed the script of the film together.
Adam Shankman is the director of musical films "Hairspray" and "Rock of Ages." He is also known as the director of the light-hearted comedies "Bringing Down the House," "Bedtime Stories," and "The Pacifier."
Early this year, Amy Adams was interviewed by E! News at Max Mara's "Whitney" bag dinner in New York City, in which she admitted that she hopes to be involved in the "Enchanted" sequel.
"Oh, my gosh! That's startling. It's weird because I'm not 10 years older, so it's so strange that it's going on. That's so weird," Adams told E! News.
"They've been talking about it for a while," she continued. "So I really embrace and look forward to what they do and hope to be involved."
