China's Hunan province made a new public washroom which offers breathtaking views of the forest.
The ceiling, walls and floor of the toilet cubicles, located in Shiyan Lake Ecology Park, are nearly transparent. When nature calls, users are able to relieve themselves while, at the same time, looking at the beautiful Lake of Shiyan.
Though it's almost see-through, washroom users are not fully exposed.
According to CNN, a part of the glass, from the floor to just over the toilet seat, is somewhat frosted, shielding visitors from those who might be tempted to sneak a peek instead of the great outdoors.
Just in time for China's National Day holiday, Shiyan Lake Ecology Park's glass washroom opened to the public last week. The event is the time when millions of Chinese make sure to have a week of public holidays to travel around the country.
However, social media users seemed to be divided towards their opinions about the new attraction.
More than 140,000 comments have been posted on a Chinese news site QQ.com ever since the toilets opened.
A lot of people expressed their concerns about privacy.
"All the lechers will then stay in the toilets," a user named Fong commented.
Another reader named Lin asked: "Who would dare go to a toilet like this? Insane. Perverse."
There are also those who questioned the purpose of the designers in building such washrooms.
"The toilet is another scenic spot," commented Weibo user Qiu.
"Such a victory in that sense."
However, this is not the first public washroom in China which offers sweet views. In fact, Local10 says that a male washroom in tFrom filtered titlehe southern province of Guilin offers urinals mounted in front of two glass walls overlooking the flora and fauna outside and the mountains in the distance.
