Lionsgate is getting ready for an action-packed 2017 with their upcoming releases, "John Wick: Chapter 2" and "Power Rangers." Both highly anticipated movies are scheduled to have a joint panel in New York Comic Con or NYCC - so can the audience expect a future crossover between the two films?
While crossover plans are highly unlikely, the anticipation for the two upcoming releases remains high! The promotional panel will happen on October 8, 2pm at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. New and never before seen footage from both films will be shown, and there will be a Q&A session with the brainchildren behind the two movies.
"Power Rangers" fans are hopeful that they'll see the full image of the all-new Zords, since the latest release of posters definitely piqued their curiosity. Ecumenical News reported about the Zord-featuring posters.
For the Keanu Reeves-starring film, fans would love to know more the relationship between Reeves's character and the new pit-bull puppy he was shown strolling with along Brooklyn Bridge.
Movie News Guide is proud that Asian actors are taking front and center for both movies, as the John Wick sequel will feature "Blacklist" alum Angel Pai and Perry Yung and Toshiko Onizawa of "Person of Interest" fame. For the morphin' reboot, the Black Ranger will be played by the hunky Ludi Lin. Fiona Fu of "Blood and Water" is also set to star with Lin.
In true Power Ranger fashion, the rest of the team also has good representation for the Hispanic and African-American races.
Both productions have been praised due to their diverse cast, which pleased a lot of audiences and critics. Keanu Reeves, who is actually part Chinese, is one of the most successful actors with Asian roots.
Lionsgate has announced that they will be releasing both films early 2017, with only a month in between premieres. "John Wick: Chapter 2" will be out Feb. 10, while "Power Rangers" will be out on March 17.
