It's no secret that the sexy novel 50 Shades of Grey has been getting a lot of praise lately, especially within the female crowd, and subsequently steaming up bedrooms around the nation. For couples who would like to relive any part of the saucy story line, hotels are starting to capitalize in on the trend with erotic packages.
The book, which is set in Portland and Seattle, features two main characters. The young student Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, the brooding billionaire who enjoys a bit of S&M. Hotel's based in the Northwest area are using this to their advantage.
The Heathman Hotel in Portland made an appearance in some sexy scenes and is using this to its advantage. They are now offering a "Charlie Tango No Limits" package with the price of $2,750. This includes white wine and appetizers for six, dinner, a helicopter tour of Portland, roses and a hotel and limo transfer. Their "inner-goddess" add on is $40 and simply includes a grey tie and a bottle of white wine.
At Hotel Max, in Seattle they offer the "Fifty Shades of Seattle Package" which includes two nights for two in an Artist King room, a helicopter ride and a luxury town car to take you there. The price starts at a hefty $1,669.
According to CNN, the hotel's website states, "Live out your fantasies with a two-night getaway in an Artist King room on the romantic 8th floor. During your stay, enjoy chauffeured town car service, a helicopter tour of the city and a private four-hour skippered sailing excursion on Puget Sound with gourmet picnic and a bottle of Bollinger Grande Année Rosé 1999 Champagne, a favorite of Mr. Grey himself,"
Seattle's The Edgewater Hotel offers up a "50 Shades of Romance" package that includes a bottle of Bollinger wine, Steele's favorite champagne, a deluxe room, a sailing trip around Puget Sound, a demo drive in an Audi, including a map to local 50 Shades of Grey attractions and the book.
"The Fifty Shades of Women" deal with Personality Hotels includes a stay at San Francisco's Hotel Diva, Hotel Union Square or Kensington Park and comes with an intimacy kit. These prices start at $369 per night.
