Michelle Obama's Vacation Wish List

The Obamas may have not gone on their summer vacation this summer and with an election coming up in November, the First family isn't likely to get much of a break, but Michelle Obama does have a certain place on her vacation wish list. The First Lady is craving a trio down to New Orleans.

As President Obama is trying win reelection, the First Family is a bit busy this summer. "Most of it's going to be campaigning," Obama said of his summer plans in an interview with CBS' Charlie Rose on Sunday.

However Michelle Obama has a few places she would like to visit for pleasure rather than the usual business and campaign trips. Her top vacation dream is New Orleans.

"I've been there several times, but I've never been to the French Quarter," Michelle Obama was quoted by USA Today. "When we're there, we're usually working. We go in some back way, some freight elevator."

Michelle Obama's trip may still have to wait though. The campaign season has proven to be a busy one for the First Family. They even had to cancel their yearly trip to Martha's Vineyard which they take each summer.

While their father works on winning Presidency for a second term, his daughters Malia,14, and Sasha,11, will be attending a sleep away camp this summer and the idea of his daughters being away makes President Obama " a little depressed," as the White House will feel a bit lonely. "We're going to be, you know, experiencing the first stages of empty nest syndrome," Obama said.

Despite the pressures of the campaign and the Presidency, the Obamas claim that their marriage is still strong.

"I am happily surprised at how I think this experience has strengthened rather than diminished out marriage. I rely on her even more now than I did back then. I do think the great thing about our marriage is we have complete trust and honesty," said Mr. Obama, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"'I think particularly at our age, late 40s, early 50s, I think you are who you are and I don't think you change in this place (the White House)," Mrs. Obama said.
