'Finding Dory' Trailer, Spoilers & Cast: First Ever Lesbian Couple In A Disney Movie Part Of Plot?

The latest movie trailer for the computer-animated adventure film - Finding Dory, a motion picture follow-up to the 2003 Finding Nemo, featured a pair of women who may be the first-ever same-sex couple to appear in a Disney movie.

The trailer for Finding Dory featured all sorts of boisterous fun and heartfelt moments. In the middle of the Finding Dory trailer, it showed a featured a clip in which two women attempted to comfort a little girl who has been bumped by Hank the octopus in a renegade stroller. The footage featuring the pair has caused to form a set of theories about whether the two females are romantically linked, Jezebel reports.

A netizen named Matthew Gottula posted on his Twitter account, "‎That new #FindingDory trailer released this morning? I think that's the first lesbian couple in a @DisneyPixar film."

It has been a big deal in Hollywood regarding the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LBGT) characters in movies and TV. However, there are still some glaring exceptions in which an evoking admiration has been made in regards to creating interesting and dynamic LGBT characters. And those exceptions are largely owned by Disney: Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Disney proper, as reported by Cinema Blend.

The most recent Finding Dory movie trailer was unleashed last week on the American television show - "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," NY Daily News reported.

"If audiences are perhaps jumping the gun in anticipation of this possible milestone, it's for the reason that queer individuals are desperate and hungry for more than we've been disposing in the past," according to Salon. The news site cited a recent GLAAD (a U.S. non-governmental media monitoring organization founded by LGBT) study that showed the number of odd characters in films has failed to increase.

The reputation of the studio could get affected, in which it has a tradition to block an opening into the LGBTQ character, as stated in Out Magazine.
