Raz B, singer of boyband B2k almost died in a hotel incident in China this weekend.
The singer was in Shanghai, China for a performance over the weekend, when he had an incident that nearly killed him. He was in in hotel room when he tripped and fell hard into a sliding glass door. The 27-year-old singer tried to break his fall with his hands, but the move severely injured his hands.
Sharp pieces of glass from the door sliced his wrist open. The glass got so deep that it cut through his ligaments, nerves, tendons, and right down to the bone. The singer lost an extreme amount of blood, which nearly killed him. When the blood began gushing out, Raz B passed out.
Raz's friends alerted hotel security who called an ambulance to the scene. Paramedics rushed Raz to Huashan Hospital Fudan University, where he underwent surgery. Doctors operated on his destroyed hand in a procedure that took nearly five hours.
On Tuesday, Raz B posted a photo of the graphic, uncovered wound on his Twitter account and said "MAN.... Cherish life and your loved one's. You just never know. THANK YOU LORD FOR SAVING MY LIFE."
TMZ released a photo of the singer lying in his hospital bed, with white shorts completely covered in blood.
Despite the severity of the injury, the surgery went well and Raz was released from the hospital on Monday.
The singer cancelled his remaining tour dates as he recovers and there is no word on if he will reschedule them.
Raz B was a member of the boyband B2K. The band released albums until 2004. Raz B now has a solo career. In 2007, he released his solo single Fire. In 2010 Raz B released his first mixtape entitled Boy 2 King. He has also made appearances in some movies like 2004 film "You Got Served."
