1. Milk. Because of the oversupply of milk, its price decreased around the globe. Raw milk decreased an average of 11% in Europe. In Germany, milk is even cheaper than mineral water. Meanwhile, wholesale milk in Wisconsin is about 7% lesser in prices compared to last year. And because of this, you could also expect a decrease in prices for Cheese.
2. Whole Foods. Buyers are aware that whole foods are expensive but a grocery called 365 is opening stores which will launch low-price Whole Foods for the health-focused customer. But expect that it would be smaller in size and there will be limited selection of Whole Foods in the grocery that opened this May in Los Angeles.
3. Beef. Throughout the entire year of 2016, the retail price of a pound of ground beef had been decreasing down to $3.82 in April. The drop is nearly 10% year over year. Pork also decreased because of the cheap prices for grain and corn that is used to feed pigs. There is about 3% to 5% decrease for most pork products, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
4. Marijuana. Since Washington and Colorado approved the legalization of marijuana as a legal non-medicinal weed in 2014, its prices dropped as well. During the first 18 months after its legalized in Colorado, the price decreased in as much as 40%. In Washington, the current price of marijuana is $9.32 in March.
5. Foreign Travel. Due to the strong U.S. dollar, American travelers can go anywhere in the world in a much lower price. Travelers can also expect to save about 25% to 30% in Canada in terms of travelling. According to a study by GoBankingRates.com, countries like Argentina, Australia, Brazil, and most of Europe will find that many are on sale for American visitors.
6. Airfare. Cheap fuel prices allowed airlines to decrease flight prices while still making profits. Domestic airfare prices will be down at about 12% compared to summer of 2015 and 20% versus summer of 2014.
7. Gas. Consumer gas prices may have been rising since February but it should be incredibly cheap this summer which is 40¢ to 50¢ per gallon less than the year before. “It should be made abundantly clear: this summer will likely be the cheapest summer at the pump in the last decade or longer,” said GasBuddy analyst Patrick DeHaan, according to Time.
