The Best Hotel in the World Is...

Expedia's Insider Select report has named Marrol's Boutique Hotel in Bratislava, Slovakia the world's best hotel. The report compared 650 hotels across 295 cities in 74 countries around the world, and Marrol's Boutique Hotel came in first for amenities such as a complimentary minibar that never runs out and a computer in every room.

The Travel Magazine website notes that guests were particularly impressed with the hotel's level of customer service and staff professionalism. Richard, a man from the West Midlands who'd stayed at the hotel, remembered one instance of customer service he experienced. "We were going out for our first walk and it had just started to drizzle, the doorman immediately offered us a hotel umbrella to take with us."

According to Expedia, two fifths of Marrol's bookings were made by UK customers. Andy Washington, Managing Director Expedia UK said, "It's great to see that the popularity of Eastern Europe hotels is on the rise, with eight of the world's top hotels making the top 100 list." He continued, "Marrol's Boutique Hotel is clearly striking the right chord with holidaymakers – offering great benefits and a high level of customer service."
