iPhone 5 Release Date Rumored Specs; How Does Samsung Galaxy S3 Match Up?

The official specs of Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 5 still remain murky, yet alone the official release date of the device. However, based on the specs as per the latest rumors, here's what we've got so far.

The iPhone 5 rumored to come with an A6 quad core processor, running on Apple's latest iOS 6, which is slated for an October launch. With other handsets like Motorola Droid RAZR and Samsung Galaxy S3 already quipped with 4G LTE capability, the iPhone 5 is sure to have the feature. It is also expected to come with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology and an upgraded version of Siri.

Along with the powerful A6 quad processor will be a bigger 4 inch retina display featuring a pixel density of 367 ppi. It will be a significant improvement to their tetchy 3.5 inch screen on the 4S. It is also poised to come with a smaller dock, to match the size of a micro USB port.

The US version of the handset runs on 1.5 GHz dual-core quad-Qualcomm processor and comes with a choice of 16G or 32G internal memory - it also gives comes with a micro SD slot expandable up to 64 GB. Running on Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich (poised to receive a Jelly Bean upgrade), the SGS3 boasts a massive 4.8 inch display. Samsung's Galaxy S3 is expected to reach sales of up to 10 million units across the world by the end of this month, becoming one of the fastest selling handsets in the company's history. The SGS3 was finally released in the States in all major carriers last week, with Verizon finally expecting to ship on July 10.
