Katy Perry broke her silence about the photos of her beau Orlando Bloom and Selena Gomez who were spotted getting cozy in the LIGHT nightclub in Las Vegas over the weekend through her posts on Twitter. Last weekend, Gomez was seen sitting closely to Bloom after her show in the Sin City which sparked rumors that something is going on between the two.
"There was leg touching, hugging, talking closely, but no one saw kissing," said an eyewitness, according to Entertainment Tonight. "They definitely did not leave together."
But sources claim that Bloom and Gomez are merely friends. Perry even considers the news as a "dumb conspiracy" when she recently tweeted about Bloom saying, "Instead of giving energy & eyeballs to dumb conspiracy check out how [COOL] this is." She then added a link to a TIME article about the 39-year-old actor's UNICEF ambassadorship.
The 31-year-old singer also added the hashtag, "Don't feed the beast." Said post was re-tweeted by Gomez with a praise hands emoji which signifies that she agrees with Perry's statement and she praised the singer for clarifying the rumors.
“Selena likes Orlando as a friend and is not trying to get between him and Katy,” an insider told Us Weekly.
Prior to this, Perry also tweeted “Is that all there is?” with a link to the video of Peggy Lee’s classic 1969 song which is about a girl who got disappointed by a boy.
Fans think that this is her cryptic response to the rumors about Bloom and Gomez having a relationship after their sweet photos made rounds on the internet.
Perry and Bloom had been dating since the Golden Globe Awards back in January and are even said to be head over heels for each other. Before Perry dated Bloom, she was in a relationship with John Mayer but split up in 2015. Meanwhile, Bloom was previously married to Miranda Kerr but divorced in 2013.
