From May to October, the stingless and gentle manta rays gather in the warm tropical waters to feed on - and be cleaned by - plankton.
2. Fly a little with the Flying Fishes!
Have you seen the flying fish in the movie "Life of Pie?" If you want to witness them in real then you'll find them in deep tropical open ocean waters, rather than close to port. If you doubt their existence then note this, they are equipped with large wing-like pectoral fins that enable them to propel their bodies out of the water and glide for distances up to 200 m.
3. Feel enormous as you watch the huge Whales
Fond of whales? Watching the gigantic animals in the vast and deep oceans swimming with full splendid would be amazing. Explore Antarctica for it. From November to March their cruise trips offered to Antarctic expeditions departing from Argentina or New Zealand. Did you know that Antarctic waters are home to eight species of whales: fin, humpback, minke, orca, sei, southern right, sperm and the largest mammal is ever known to live, the rare blue whale. Also, watch other wildlife such as Adélie penguins, elephant seals, sea lions, and albatross.
4. Dance with the dancing Dolphins
Watch highly intelligent mammals jumping on you! Is that what you are looking forward to this summer? Then hop in a cruise to watch those exotic creatures. Watch the dusky or Clymene dolphins on cruises in Mexican waters, but for cruises in the Pacific Ocean's Southern Hemisphere waters, you're more likely to spot bottlenose dolphins, identifiable by their short rounded snouts.
5. Waddle along the Penguin steps!
March with them, on the land of penguins. Waddle upright like self-important little people. Find these little birds, usually when they come ashore at night, in the Marlborough Sounds, Akaroa Harbour, Oamaru, Dunedin and Stewart Island. New Zealand's mainland penguins are the Fiordland crested penguins or tawaki, one of the rarest birds.
