'We're soarin', flying. There's not a star in heaven that we can't reach.' 'I've got to move on and be who I am I just don't belong here; I hope you understand.' 'Ice tea imported from England, towels imported from Spain, lifeguards imported from turkey and turkey imported from ma yeah yeah yeah.' Remember how crazed you were about them 10 years ago?
Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and Ryan, remember them? Well, the wild cats are still all in this together. 'High School Musical' stars Vanessa Hudgens, 27, Ashley Tisdale, 30, Lucas Grabeel, 31, Corbin Bleu, 26, and Monique Coleman, 35, recently reunited in a Los Angeles high school gym to celebrate the Disney Channel movie's 10-year anniversary, then taped an anniversary special.
Notably missing at the event was Zac Efron, 28, who played main character Troy, the love interest of Hudgens' Gabriella who already pre-taped a message for their fans.
Troy and Gabriella -- two teens who are worlds apart -- meet at a karaoke contest and discover their mutual love for music. Happened at their school, East High at New Mexico, where both accidentally auditioned for the school's musical where everyone was planning to make Gabriella hate Troy. The first movie was followed by a part 2 where it's their summer vacations and part 3 where it's their senior year.
Gary Marsh, President and CCO of Disney Channels Worldwide, put it best when he said in a Disney blog article, 'Seeing the cast of High School Musical back together again reaffirms what made it special 10 years ago. It's their optimism, their dedication and their extraordinary talent-as a group-that made this such an exceptional movie and cultural phenomenon.'
The cast took to social media their excitement about reuniting with their fellow stars. It was so fun to watch the gang back together again. BRB crying, I'm going to watch all the movies and sing my heart out, to every song that I did not even memorize. Ciao!
