The U.K. boy band, One Direction, is looking forward to a much needed vacation. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are ready to take a 10 day break from their busy work schedule and relax on vacation.
The band has been going non-stop since February while touring around the world. After they finish up the last few dates of their U.S. tour, the boys will get a 10-day vacation to do whatever they want before they head into the studio to record their second album. The break will also give them some time to relax before they start planning for their 2013 world tour which kicks off in February.
The boys of Ireland and England will be taking this vacation time to simply relax. As member Niall Horan tells MTV, "We've got 10 days off and [I'm] just literally just going to chill," he said. "A couple of my friends are coming to London and we're just gonna chill for the week. We very rarely get time off, so it's good to be able to just relax for a bit. We've been all going since February, really."
However, Horan finds that relaxation time is still not easy to come by, even on a vacation as the One Direction fans operate 24/7. He explains how he has to put extra planning into his vacation; not for a flight or a hotel room, but just for a trip to the grocery store so he doesn't get bombarded by fans.
"You have to go about it the right way," Horan said. "Obviously it's not just the case of 'Oh, I'm gonna go to this place for lunch.' You have to think about it for a bit. You can do all the regular things, it just becomes a struggle.
Horan gave an example of the craziness that follows the band everywhere they go. He told MTV about a recent Mall trip that got a bit out of control.
"For example, the other day I wanted to go to Lids to buy a hat when we were in Atlanta," he recalled. "And I was in there with two security guys and I got absolutely mobbed in the mall. There were like, two or three hundred girls following me around the shopping center. Them kind of things. It's not the most convenient for everyone, but it's all good. It's all a part of what we do. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be here."
One Direction recently tried to enjoy some time off between shows in Las Vegas, but their visit didn't go as planned. They were kicked out of the casinos for being under the legal age of 21. Also, they thought they were staying in the hotel room that was used in the movie, The Hangover but they soon found out that the movie was actually filmed in Los Angeles rather than Las Vegas. Their visit ended in disappointment, but they had to continue on with their North American Tour.
