Viking Ocean Cruises, a river cruise line that has won a lot of awards, launched its second ocean bound vessel, the Viking Sea.
Just a year ago, the cruise company launched Viking Star as its first vessel. Both cruise lines from Viking Ocean Cruises are less than one third of the large ships from Norwegian Cruise Line or Royal Caribbean. It's designed to be an elegant ride for those who want to travel to locations that are not currently being catered by other cruise industries or destinations that have been lost as years went by.
Just like the Viking Star, Viking Sea will spend more time in ports as compared to other cruise lines. Included in the amount that passengers paid for are shore excursions, lunch and dinner with beer or wine, and Wi-Fi access. These are usually being charged at about 75 cents per minute in other lines.
The second vessel from Viking Ocean Cruises will adorn a Scandinavian style with a modern twist and can hold a maximum number of 930 passengers. The cabins inside will be larger than what is usually provided in cruise ships with the smallest out of five categories to measure 270 square feet. For a more splendid view, each cabin has its own balcony. The ship contains 14 suites good for two with sizes ranging from 757 to 1,448 square feet and have private balconies as well. The cruise line offers both hot or cold options for relaxation since it has a sauna and a snow room.
Destinations will be around the Mediterranean and the Baltic area from 8- to 50-day sailings, which cost $2,499 per passenger. The Viking Sea will start sailing the waters this coming April 2016.
If you plan to board these cruise ships this 2016, make sure to ask the cabin steward about the amenities to make the most out of your cruise cabin privileges.
