Snoop Dogg was done dirty by a snooping dog. The rapper was busted at a Norwegian airport for carrying marijuana.
Snoop was at Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand, Norway on Thursday when a drug dog made a beeline right towards him and found that he had marijuana in his luggage. The rapper was pulled aside by customs agents and detained on Thursday morning after they found 8 grams of marijuana on him.
Luckily for Snoop, Norway is pretty lenient with their marijuana laws, so he didn't get into too much trouble, but he did get a steep fine. In Norway, anything less than 15 grams is only punishable by fines, so he didn't have to face jail time.
The rapper had to pay 52,000 kroner ($8,600) for the pot, but also because he was carrying a large amount of cash which was more than is legally allowed.
The Customs officials at the Norwegian airport claim that they didn't recognize the star until he showed identification, which is interesting, considering his real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. However, the rapper was reportedly very polite and cooperative and didn't cause any problems upon being busted, Reuters reported.
Snoop Dogg was arriving in Norway to perform at the Hove Music Festival in Kristiansand on Thursday night, the New York Daily News reported.
The pot bust may not come as a surprise as the 40-year old rapper has been busted before, raps about smoking marijuana in his music, and even posted a photo of himself on Twitter passing a joint shortly after the drug bust at the airport. He captioned the photos saying "Smoking crip n. cuzns. Hahahahagahhaha."
This is the second time the rapper was busted for pot this year. In January, he was cited for possession in Sierra Blana, Texas after police found joints on his bus, the New York Daily News reported.
