Weeks after host Steve Harvey declared Miss Colombia as the wrong winner instead of Miss Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant, the world is still abuzz about the issue.
Steve Harvey mistakenly named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez-Arevalo instead of Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Harvey was then forced to walk back on stage and announce his mistake.
The crowned Miss Universe kicked off her year long reign Monday with an appearance in Good Morning America.
Wurtzbach was asked if she'd consider sharing her title with Miss Colombia (as suggested by Donald Trump) the beauty queen told GMA's Lara Spencer, 'I think it would be a little bit difficult for two girls to share a crown.'
When asked about the US$300,000 diamon crown, Wurtzbach said, 'It's a little bit heavy, but I'm not complaining. It can stay there for a long time.'
During the interview Wutzbach shared that she 'greeted' Miss Colombia on her birthday and checked in how she was doing.
'She seems like she's OK,' Wurtzbach said. 'I understand how she feels. I'm also concerned.'
'I know that she's a beautiful young lady [who is] very talented and I know that she'll have a lot of other opportunities. She'll do very well, I'm sure.'
The beauty queen also talked about Steve Harvey and said that she has no hard feelings towards the host. She added that he should be given the chance to host Miss Universe again next year, calling him a 'breath of fresh air.'
"He made us feel very relaxed, the contestants," she said. "It makes us show our personalities a little bit more. I think that benefits everybody, especially the viewers."
Wutzbach also shared that her victory was a "big deal" in the Philippines, as they hadn't had a winner in 42 years.
She said, "Everyone's been anticipating to finally get the crown and we did."
Wurtzbach will focus on an array of causes, including HIV awareness, during her reign but for now she's still getting used to the crown.
