According to gossip sites, William Shatner, most recognized for his work on Star Trek, had a bit of an embarrassing moment at a busy California airport recently. His pants fell down.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) often gets criticized for being too intrusive and using technology that shows too much, but Shatner saved them the trouble of getting too touchy-feely when his pants fell down at Los Angeles International Airport.
Shatner was at LAX as he was getting on a flight to South Africa. He was chosen for a random security search when his pants fell down, exposing his underwear to everyone who was watching the star. Like many travelers, the actor and singer wanted to be comfortable on his long flight, so he wore loose clothing and left the belt in his luggage. Apparently his clothes were just a little too loose.
Shatner is often in shows and movies that strike up laughs, like $#*! My Dad Says and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, but this pants dropping incident was no laughing matter. He was quite embarrassed over the event.
"It was awful to have people looking at me with my pants down, probably the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me," said the 81-year-old. "It was a long flight so I wanted to wear loose clothing because I didn't want anything to bind me," as quoted by the Toronto Sun.
