Experience Nepal

Land locked in South Asia, Nepal is a land of snow peaks and Sherpas, yaks and yetis, monasteries and mantras. Here are things to do if you're headed to Nepal

Visit a Living Goddess

There are three cities in the Kathmandu Valley, naemly Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, have their own living goddess. The goddesses are chosen from the priestly Bajracharya caste when they are three, and these girls are believed to emobody the goddess Teleju until they first menstruate. One goddess that can easily visited is the Lalitpur Kumari. There you will get to be blessed by a small girl in a low throne with the power to bless visitors.

Enjoy White Sand Beaches

Nepal isn't the first place in mind when thinking about beaches but this country has another trick up on its sleeves. Nepal's many rivers' waters are from the Himalayas, it boasts of clean and glittery white sand. You can camp overnight, go rafting, or kayaking along the rivers of Sun Kosa, Trisuli, or Tamur. The best thing is that these destinations aren't as crowded as other tourist destinations. It is even a possibility that you may have the beach all for yourselves.

Safari Tours

Nepal has its fair share of tropical jungles too. One of the most popular safaris in Napal is the Chitwan National Park where you get to spot Rhinos and Royal Bengal Tigers. Chitwan National Park is also one of the places where elephant tourism is allowed as it has been a positive force for conservation as the money generated has gone back into protecting endangered wildlife.

Museum Hopping

Kathmandu has what is often considered as South Asia's best museums. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage site is the Patan Museum, house in the palace compound in the Patan Durbar Square. In the museum are ancient bronze Buddhas and other gods and goddesses as well as Tantric texts and architectural drawings. P.S. the courtyard restaurant makes excellent dal bhat.
