Top Restaurants In The World For Travelers

One of the best parts about travel is getting to try different types of cuisine in some of the many restaurants in cities around the world. Since there are so many restaurants to choose from, it can be hard to decide which one. TripAdvisor has released their list of some of the top restaurants as part of their 2012 Travelers' Choice^® Restaurants awards.

Every year, TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site gives awards for their favorite dining establishments in cities around the world. The winners are chosen based on millions of traveler reviews and opinions that are posted on the site.

The 576 restaurants honored this year fit into categories such as travelers' overall favorites, favorites in the U.S., Europe, and every other popular tourist cities. Eligible restaurants included those that offer dinner and table service.

"We're thrilled to highlight some of the TripAdvisor community's most beloved eateries to help travelers plan their next trip or night out," said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor in a press release. "We found that travelers' favorite restaurants range from well-known, casual chains to upscale fine dining options - the common thread for these award-winners being a consistently remarkable dining experience with outstanding service and quality."

1. Le Bernardin, New York City
