Temple in Japan Features Star Wars Theme

There is this creative temple in Kyoto which interestingly features a Japan-style Star Wars theme.

Japan is known to have at least one temple in every municipality. These sacred buildings act as places of worship where diving beings are believed to dwell. They are also sites where religious objects are kept for display. Kamakura, Kyoto, and Nara are good cities to start to find plenty of beautiful temples.

There is one peculiar temple which can be found in Kyoto if you're coming to travel Japan this December because this said temple features a Japan-style Star Wars theme.

Kiyomizu-dera temple displays an awesome Star Wars: The Force Awakens screen painting. The massive artwork was painted in a style referred to as Rinpa which is reminiscent of traditional Japan. The masterpiece features characters from the film portraying as Japanese gods. It features Kylo Ren as Raijin and Rey as Fujin locked in an epic battle to decide the fate of humanity. Kylo Ren is the antagonist from the upcoming Star Wars film while Raijin is the Japanese god of thunder and storms. Rey appears to be the movie's main protagonists, or at least one of its main heroines while Fujin is the Japanese god of wind.

Just beside the painting is the word 'kakusei' written in calligraphy. The calligraphy was said to be written by the temple's chief abbot. The word translates to 'awake' which verifies the artwork pays homage to the upcoming 7th installment of the popular sci-fi franchise. Stormtroopers stand guard to keep the painting safe from those who might attempt to tamper it. In addition to that, below the screen artwork are the words 'Star Wars 12.18' written in the franchise's font and in English. The screen painting will be displayed from December 8 to 15.

Star Wars is quite popular in Japan maybe because the film is heavily inspired by Japanese culture. 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is expected to hit the US theatres this December 18.
