5 of the Weirdest Sculpture Parks in the World

When many people think of sculptures, classics like Rodin's The Thinker or Michelangelo's David come to mind, not giant hands or submerged goddesses. We've gathered a list of parks over the globe that are home to several of the strangest, most off-the-wall sculptures you can envision. From Man Throwing Babies to 1001 Nights constructed from huge amounts of sand, these centerpieces will probably leave you rubbing your head in surprise.

All Hands on Deck

At Sun Cruise Resort in South Korea, you can appreciate the vibe of a cruise while staying securely on land. At the hotel, molded like a full-size cruise ship roosted on the edge of a cliff sitting above the sea, you can discover an assortment of strangeness, not the least of which is the sculpture garden. Its work of art is a huge pair of hands called "The Hands of Blessing," which open to the ocean and are a perfect spot to view the sun rise.

Under the Sea

Jump into the waters around Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Punta Nizuc in Mexico to find a submerged museum of 450 lasting life-size figures by Jason deCaires Taylor. Named the Museo Subacuatico de Arte (MUSA), the submerged park gives a reef structure that energises coral life, while additionally offering a fascination for snorkelers and divers, drawing them far from other natural reefs that are in recovery.

A Desert Marvel

Opened from January to April 2014, the sands of time recently eradicated this wonder in Kuwait (all sand figures are temporary). Yet, the recreation center was a scene to see. Made by the Sand Sculpture Company and authorised by the Proud to Be Kuwaiti association, this model pictured took nine weeks to build and highlighted a 10,000-ton central royal residence that was more than five stories high and which ranks as the tallest sand sculpture ever built.
