During the Airbnb Open Conference, it was declared that a few new tools were created to make things easier for business consumers. First is the 'Business Travel Ready' badge. The hosts can now get this tool for their listings.
What does this mean? What is that badge for? This badge will help customers indicate that the place has a designated workplace, hair dryer, iron and of course, Wi-Fi. Moreover, included on this badge is a strict policy when it comes to cancellations. This means that hosts cannot cancel the booking less than seven days before the customer's stay.
Included in today's conference is the new Host Assist feature that is available today. This tool will aid hosts for an easy key management. With this new tool, hosts can now simply grant access their apartment to their guests. This feature is all thanks to the lock and key exchange companies that Airbnb has been working hard to be connected with. They are August, Danalock, Igloohome, Kevo, Keycafe, Lockstate, Miwa, Nest and Yale. Virtual keys will be send by Airbnb to the respected guests or let hosts hide a key as well.
And last but not the least, Airbnb is now adding smart pricing to let hosts know how they should price their listings. Once turned on, smart pricing will automatically adjust the price of the listing that is also within the range that the host has set. This announcement made the audience cheer in glee. The idea of smart pricing is to let hosts earn more profit by lowering prices to improve filling rates.
Once logged in, a new dashboard for hosts can now be seen. The whole community section has been revamped as well. The new dashboard will give hosts a better view of their pending requests, reviews and upcoming guests, among others. These newly created features are all about making it easier for new hosts to get advice from super hosts.
Joe Zadeh, Vice President of Product also announced changes in the sign-up flow. Now, new users will first be greeted by a quick message saying that they are staying in a home, not a hotel.
Overall, these new tools are a great add up for a better hosting experience both for the existing and new hosts. All of these of course were well received by the audience at Airbnb Open Conference.
