The social networking site, Twitter, is a great tool to find travel deals, however with thousands of tweets per hour, finding the best deals can get overwhelming and you can miss a great deal. The new website TripTwit.com makes the search easier.
TripTwit saves people a ton of time on searching for the best travel deals on Twitter. By setting up alerts, you can have airline, hotel and resort, cruise line and rental car deals from Twittersent right to your email account. Users can choose what destination they're looking for or what airlines, hotels, and cruise lines they like to use and the site will find Twitter deals related to your preferences without you having to do all the searching on your own.
"We have found a way to cull the Twittersphere and extract the travel deals consumers are interested in from the millions of conversations that are happening everyday," explains TwipTwit founder and CEO Naveen Thattil in a press release. "There is so much information getting pushed through to consumers that it is difficult to search for the things that interest them in terms of travel deals and destinations. We simply take the time and frustration completely out of the equation."
TripTwit now saves people time on monitoring and following several travel twitter accounts and brings all the deals to you in an organized way. Users can set up to 20 alerts based on their preferences. The site then looks at tweets from airlines, hotels, tourism boards, travel agents and more, to come up with some of the best Twitter travel deals that suit your needs. The alerts are sent in one nightly email to avoid inbox clutter.
TripTwit sometimes sends deals to users before the majority of people even know about them. For example, the Japanese Tourism Board posted a deal for a round-trip flight and a 4-night hotel stay in Tokyo for $780 in order to boost tourism after the tsunami. TripTwit sent the deal to its users and they found out about it two days before it was published in a national newspaper. By the time it was published, the offer was already sold out.
Those who opt for more alerts will get to see the most deals. For those who want a preview of some of the deals that are sent in alerts, they can check out the Current Travel Deals tab on the website for some recent tweets.
