Nina Dobrev Wants ‘Vampire Diaries’ To End Well; Reveals She’s Tackling New Roles

Nina Dobrev is already moving on from her 'Vampire Diaries' departure. To prove this, the 26-year-old actress recently opened up to Self Magazine about her plans now that she's done with The CW series.

According to Fox News, Dobrev seems to be wistful about her exit from TVD after portraying Elena Gilbert in the series for six straight years.

"I've loved working on this show. It's been such a crazy, awesome adventure and I've been surrounded by so many people who I consider family," she said.

Dobrev then added: "I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it's going to be so strange not to be with them."

Gushing about her final involvement and final moments in the show, Dobrev said, "It's important for me that it be epic and powerful. I feel like I'm a completely different person than I was and I've grown so much. It's been a big part of my life, and I want it to be beautiful. I want it to end well."

Dobrev's confirmation to exit 'Vampire Diaries' came amid speculations that she was having a hard time on the set because of her co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, who is already engaged to her close friend, Nikki Reed.

Last month, she shocked a lot of fans when she formally announced her exit from 'Vampire Diaries' on Instagram, according to ABC News.

"I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six-season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," she wrote at the time.

Nevertheless, Dobrev is not letting any of the speculations and rumors regarding her departure bother her. The Bulgarian-born actress is even excited to tackle new roles, ones that are very different from the one she portrayed for the vampire-themed series.

"I'm ready to put up that fight again. I'm excited to put up that fight," she quipped.

Interestingly, on Monday night, Dobrev took the time to show off her flexibility on Conan's late night show by doing the splits, Pop Sugar has learned.

Despite Dobrev's exit, The CW's 'Vampire Diaries' has already been confirmed to return for its seventh season.
