Lines at airport security could be long and frustratingly slow. To help speed the process along, remember these three easy tips. The people behind you and the TSA agents will thank you.
Be prepared ahead of time
You know you're going to have to do it eventually, so while you're online, have your boarding pass and I.D. ready, and take off your jacket, belt, and any other metal that might set off the detectors. Remember to pull your laptop or other electronic device out of its case and to empty your pockets.
Comfort over fashion
Yes, that shirt you have with the trendy zippers off the shoulders or up the sleeves looks really cool. What's not cool, though, is being pulled aside for a wand check. Similarly, you might want to avoid the shoes that have all of the laces and the high heels in favor of some easy slip-ons or sneakers. After all, with all the time you spend taking them off and putting them back on, you might have to run to your gate, which could be tricky in fancy footware.
Know the rules for carry-ons
Nobody wants to see airport security workers rifling through their stuff, but even worse is having your stuff confiscated. The TSA has strict rules about the amounts of liquids allowed on the plane, so it's best to put that fancy shampoo or bugspray or sunblock in your checked bag. The same goes for items like razors and tweezers.
