Travelers are more concerned about a hotel's cleanliness than the style and customer service, and hotels in the U.S. are all set to impress their customers by going the extra mile in cleanliness in this summer.
Many big hotel chains have come forward with a new tech approach to be clean and hygienic. The hotels are now opting for black lights to detect germs and biological stuff which cannot be identified through naked eyes. The hotels are claiming to use ultraviolet light to remove it, according to USA TODAY.
One of the champions in introducing this technique is the Best Western hotel group, which has plans of adopting this new technique in more than 2000 hotels that they run in North America by 2012 end.
While Best Western hotel is claiming to be forerunners in this new innovative measure, there are many other hotels that are catching up.
UV light has been used for its anti-microbial properties for ages. Though it's invisible, it can kill 99 percent of the illness-causing germs.
