Jeh Johnson Mall Threat: 'I would say that if anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they've got to be particularly careful'

Jeh Johnson Mall Threat - The US Homeland Security Chief, Jeh Johnson, had appeared on CNN early Sunday. In his interview, Johnson had warned American citizens to take precautions when heading out to the mall, particularly the Mall of America. All this because of an online threat made by a terrorist group.

The Mall of America has been singled out as a target by terrorist group, al-Shabab. The group aims to take over the mall and repeat the history of the bloody attack in the mall at Nairobi. This particular mall attack took place Sept. 2013 where more than 60 people were killed. This has led to Jeh Johnson's mall threat warning.

"If anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they've got to be particularly careful," states Jeh Johnson's mall threat warning in a report by CNN. "There will be enhanced security there, but public vigilance, public awareness and public caution in situations like this is particularly important, and it's the environment we're in, frankly."

Jeh Johnson's mall threat warning is taken "very seriously" by the FBI, local, and state law enforcement. With the mall being the largest in the country and having more than 40 million visitors in a year, terrorist attacks on the mall would definitely be bloodier than the recent attack on the Kenya mall. Other than the Mall of America, the online threat made on Twitter also suggested attacks on other malls in Britain, Canada, and France.

If Jeh Johnson's mall threat warning has been taken seriously by the DHS, other officials claim it has certainly not "helpful." Online threats for one should not be taken seriously claims the law enforcement officer. As for American citizens who choose to believe Jeh Johnson's mall threat warning, simply practice vigilance and be as wary to terrorist-like behaviour and actions within the mall.
