Teacher Donates Kidney To Pupil: Teacher From Britain Saves Life Of Dying Pupil By Donating His Kidney, Honored In The Queen's New Year Honors List

Teacher Donates Kidney To Pupil - One teacher went beyond his profession to help his dying student. Ray Coe, a 53-year old teacher, had donated one of his kidneys to his pupil. After his selfless act, Coe has been included in the Member of the Order of the British Empire.

The New Year's honors list has been released and the latest name includes the teacher who donated kidney to pupil. Coe had learnt of his student's (Alya Ahmed Ali) ailing status. Rather than sit in the by lines, Coe had helped out in miraculous ways by donating one of his kidneys.

The procedure was done Feb. of last year. After months of recovery, both Alya and Coe are doing well and have been back in the action at school. The parents of Alya have been nothing but thankful regarding the teacher donating kidney to pupil.

"He has given Alya much more than just the gift of life. He's an amazing man, we owe him so much," shares Alya's father, Ahmed Ali, regarding the selfless act of the teacher donating kidney to pupil, in a report by Daily Mail.

As for Coe, the teacher who donated kidney to pupil, having been included in the MBE honorees still comes as a shock for him. For Coe, he never thought it would become a big story. Aside from being included in the Queen's New Year honors list, Coe had also been awarded Teacher of the Year at the Pride of Britain Awards 2014.

The teacher who donated kidney to pupil works at the Royal Docks Community School in east London. Coe had first learned of Alya's ailing status after following up with her family regarding her attendance. Coe's selfless act has not only helped Alya receive new life, but has also broken down religious and racial boundaries within the community.
